It’s really a great day to all songwriters, composers, singers and those who love music. Every year on June 21, we celebrate ‘World International Music Day”.

There are so many events and programs organized to make this great festival. Over 700 cities across 210 countries, including Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, Australia, Mexico, Canada, USA and Japan Celebrate World Music Day.


Therefore, it’s a time to give tribute to our contributors who have  dedicated their whole life to Nepalese music industry at national and international level. 


World Music Day is an open to everyone to bring all music lovers at one platform. So. Let's celebrate this festival with friends and families.

Nepali music: promoting inbound tourism

Music is an integral part of our life. Music consider as a language that can understand everybody. Music can be used to communicate with others. Music is so powerful tool to create an effect than the verbal language.


Music plays a crucial role to promote our culture and tourism in the international ground. Essentially, tourism can have a profound impact on the society, economy and the environment of different communities, society and the nation as a whole. 


Different programs and events are held to strengthen our culture and boost outbound tourism time apart. Nepalese folk – rock band Nepathaya had performed at London’s Wembley arena. That was a great opportunity to endorse our culture, traditions, through music to the world.


Sur Sudha, a pioneer band who has experimented with local tunes to classical music. The band has imprinted Nepalese melodies inside and abroad. Their performance is outstanding in Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe and around the globe. Nepalese from abroad welcome  them to hear their classical  folk tunes to hear them. 

Here I have selected  such music that literally promote our Nepalese culture throughout the world.

Yak butter tea: best energy drink for everyone

Sherpa’s are one of the indigenous ethnic habitats of Nepal. They are renowned for their bravery, culture and good deeds. They are the specialist in mountaineering sector. The culture of Sherpa is highly rich with their food and living style.

When it comes to food, Yak butter tea is very popular in Sherpa community.Yak butter tea so called “su cha” in Sherpa language is widely  in Tibet, China and Bhutan also.



I just recall my childhood days, when my mother started making butter tea in a silver kettle. Since, it’s cold in the mountain region, so, our family used to drink butter tea throughout the day to keep warm and hydrated.



Normally, this tea is so simple to make. In fact, it’s a combination of yak butter, milk tea, leaves  and salt. It’s a best energy drink for  early morning and in the evening meal time.

Yak butter tea very helpful for indigestion, improve immune system, regain body warm, retaining water, control blood pressure and many more. Especially in the monsoon and winter season, having butter tea is super power energy drink for everyone.

Save the environment in a better way

On June 5th, the world is celebrating Environment Day, with the theme “Connecting People to Nature’. From the time when it began in 1972 many nations have organized campaigns and events related to clean and green environment globally.


The government has also organized various programs with participation of students, bureaucrats, various organizations and development partners from May 27 as environment week. So, it is an opportunity to do something better for a good reason.





Here are some ways to save the environment in a better manner.

  • Ø  Make a garden in your home so that you can enjoy with nature.

  • Ø  Use fluorescent light bulbs that they can save energy and reduce electricity bill.





  • Ø  Always turn off TVs, computers,  light and other appliances when not  use.


  • Ø  Make a habit of walking rather than driving.  Cycling is good for health.

  • Ø  Learn about alternative households cooking and cleaning techniques.

  •   Plan the recovering rainwater. It can be use for different purposes.







These are some minute effects, I have experienced in my everyday life. So, what is your mission to save the environment in a better way?
